   Carding refers to the practice of stealing credit card information and using it     for creating false IDs, opening bank accounts, and purchasing goods including     gift cards. Since there is currently no efficient cure for this problem, we are        going to look at it from all angles. We will also look at the risk of having your     identity stolen and what you can do about it.

 

 

                                               

2. What is carding and how it works?

 

 

Carding is defined as a fraudulent and illegal activity where an unauthorised person (Carder) uses stolen credit card information to purchase Prepaid Gift Cards or Gift Certificates. Subsequently, the carder sells the gift cards in exchange for something else, which they ultimately re-sell for cash.

 

3. Is carding a crime?

 

 

Carding itself is defined as the illegal use of the card (Credit/Debit) by unauthorized people (carder) to buy a product. For educational purposes, I will now show how a carder is able to go about their illicit activities. Remember – carding is highly illegal, and should not be attempted under any circumstances.

So what do fraudsters do with stolen credit card information? It's valuable data, so many sell it to someone else. If they do use it for themselves, they may buy anything from physical, luxury items and electronics, to online goods like video game credits and business services. How credit card records are sold on dark web? Credit card records are sold in dark web market places called carding forums. Here, cyber criminals don't just sell and buy card records but also share information and tips to hack websites and use stolen data.
